Two arrested for crack possession, one with lengthy arrest record

NORWICH – Two individuals were arrested Friday and sit in the Chenango County Correctional Facility after being charged with felony drug crimes.

25-year-old Michael B. Mack of Utica was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony according to the Corrections Division at the Chenango County Sheriff's Office.

The Corrections Division also arrested Kristine Tiffany on the same charges.

According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr., the vehicle operated by Mack and Tiffany was stopped for a traffic violation. During the ensuing investigation, the deputy learned there was a quantity of crack cocaine.

Mack has a lengthy arrest record and according to the New York State Department of Corrections, served state time for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree in 2010 and is therefore a felon.
