Sucessful weekend at the Sherburne Pageant of Bands

SHERBURNE – As the 66th Annual Sherburne Pageant of the Bands kicked off this weekend, many of the participants and spectators were buzzing with excitement. Competition started Thursday, June 4 at different locations around the Sherburne-Earlville High School.

Band members and students from 30 different schools all came to participate. Parents and spectators came from all over the state as well. The bands participated in a variety of different competitions including, Concert Band Competitions and the Grand Parade Competition during the day Saturday, June 6 and the Awards Ceremony that night. “I love to get to perform for everybody,” said Norwich High School senior Marrissa Mitchell. “It’s fun to show what we’ve been doing all year.” Mitchell performs in the concert band and this is her seventh consecutive year in the pageant.
