Finch calls for suspension of Start-Up NY

ALBANY – Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R-126th Assembly District) is calling for suspension of New York’s Start-Up New York program.

Calling the program “New York’s priciest misnomer,” Finch joined his colleagues at a press conference just off the Assembly floor on Wednesday to state their case against the controversial economic development program.

“The only thing chillier than our winters in New York is our frigid business climate,” said Finch. “Stifling regulations and punitive taxes are discouraging job creators from investing in our communities, especially upstate. The governor needs to realize that short-term tax gimmicks and gaudy advertising campaigns are no replacement for real economic development.”
