NEW BERLIN – The OCO Elites improved to 2-0 on the season scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Utica Post 229 Friday.
With the score tied at 2-2, Paul Van Warner and Nick Stirone scored on a two-out wild pitch to break the tie. Austin Taylor scored the third run when Josh Haines' groundball was misplayed. Haines moved up to second, and Zach Schallert, who previously walked, moved to third. Andrew Radke's two-run single completed the scoring.
Radke led OCO with two hits and three RBI, and Mason Alford added an RBI single. Schallert went the distance for the win.
The Elites scored four runs in the second, and went on to beat Clinton Post 232 in their season-opening game last Thursday.
Dylan Mack picked up the victory pitching a complete-game one-hitter. Mack struck out five and walked four.
A throwing error on a pickoff attempt scored Conor Pope and Schallert for OCO's first runs of the second inning. Haines added an RBI single during the frame, and Haines, John Predmore, and Stirone finished with two hits apiece.

ONEONTA – The Chenango Hellcats went 2-2 – one win by forfeit – at the Randy Naylor Tournament, Friday and Saturday at Oneonta.
Coming off a 5-2 opening loss to Oneonta, the Hellcats rallied twice before downing Bradford, Pa., 12-7.
McGwire Tuttle (Afton) had a base-clearing, three-run double in the Hellcats’ six-run third inning. Cameron Heggie (Oxford) and Joe DeVona (Afton) also had run scoring singles.
Afton Bradford retook the lead, 7-6, the Hellcats regained the lead for good with five runs in the fifth. John Yacano delivered a two-run go-ahead single, Tuttle picked up his fourth RBI singling in Yacano, and Kyle Crawford added an RBI fielder’s choice.
“McGwire Tuttle really broke out for us and came up with some big hits,” said Hellcats coach Jason Miller.
In the loss to Oneonta, Crawford was credited with the Hellcats’ lone RBI. Conor Graven-Briggs doubled and drove in the only run in a 12-1 loss to Corning.

NORWICH – Marcus Cashman pitched five scoreless innings finishing with five strikeouts and Payton Stirone was a perfect 3-for-3 with and double and an RBI as Norwich won its season-opener over Hamilton in the Otsenango Pony League last week.
