Man trapped in Smyrna silo collapse Tuesday afternoon

SMYRNA — The Smyrna Fire company along with CMT Ambulance responded to the scene of a silo collapse with entrapment in the town of Smyrna, Tuesday.

Chenango County dispatch records indicate that shortly before 2 p.m. a 911 call was received notifying authorities that a storage silo located on the Blanchard farm at 880 County Road 20, had fallen on a male victim.

The male patient was extricated shortly after first responders arrived, and LifeNet was summoned to the scene for transport to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
