NORWICH – The Chenango Hellcats won their fifth game of the American Legion season Tuesday night riding the strong pitching of Oxford senior-to-be Kevin Davis.
Davis allowed just two runs on five hits in a complete game performance. Davis fanned six Johnson City batters and walked just one.
The Hellcats scored two in the second on RBIs by Joe DeVona and Kyle Crawford. Jon Liuzzo came home with what was the winning run in the third. Liuzzo, who was on third base, stole home after a pickoff attempt at second base.
Jon Heggie and Paden Burlison added RBI hits in the fifth and sixth innings respectively.
The Hellcats host Endicott tonight at 6 p.m.
