NORWICH – NBT Bank recently presented the Chenango Blues Association with a $17,500 donation to sponsor an expanded NBT Bank Summer Concert Series. This increase of $7,500 over the bank’s 2014 sponsorship is providing the Chenango Blues Association with funding to increase the number of free concerts from four to seven this summer.
“The parks in downtown Norwich are an important asset, and the Chenango Blues Association has demonstrated their ability to use this resource to deliver a great summer entertainment opportunity to area residents and visitors,” said NBT Bank President and CEO Martin Dietrich. “We’re pleased to provide increased funding this year to help them build an even bigger and better NBT Bank Summer Concert Series for everyone’s enjoyment.”
Chenango Blues Association President Eric Larsen said, “We’re extremely grateful to NBT Bank for their continued support of our efforts and the opportunity to bring more quality entertainment to Chenango County that features a wide variety of national talent.” NBT Bank Territory Manager Thomas Sutton added, “The concert series provides the perfect opportunity for people to come downtown to visit with friends and neighbors and support our local merchants while enjoying our parks and some great music.”
To publicize the expanded concert series, staff at NBT Bank’s Norwich Office locations will be wearing T-shirts each Thursday to remind customers of that night’s concert. In the accompanying photo, staff present Larsen with the bank’s donation.
The NBT Bank Summer Concert Series begins on July 2 with a kick-off event at 6:30 p.m. in Norwich’s East Side Park featuring free food from Chobani, the Norwich Rotary Club and the Norwich High School Cheerleaders, followed by a performance of the band The Weight at 7 p.m. For the complete concert series schedule, visit chenangobluesfest.org.
