Zimmerman tosses no-hitter in Sherburne victory

SHERBURNE – Jordan Zimmerman used just 87 pitches tossing a no-hitter for Sherburne in Monday's Otsenango Pony League victory over Oxford.
Zimmerman struck out four and walked four to best Oxford hurler Dylan Depew, who fanned 15 Sherburne hitters in taking the hard-luck loss.
Gabe Irwin reached on an error in the first for Sherburne, and scored the game's first run on Kyle Cole's triple. Cole made it a two-run inning coming in on an error. Sherburne scored an insurance run in the sixth when Irwin singled, stole second and third, and came in on an errant throw down to third base.
Oxford's lone run came in the fourth when Tommy Palmatier was hit by a pitch. Palmatier eventually scored on a Sherburne error.
