Operation Care: Greater Chenango Cares starts no-cost medical treatment today
NORWICH – Starting today and lasting for the next 10 days, locals in and around Chenango County will have access to no-cost medical care services and treatment.
The Greater Chenango Cares Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) gets underway today at the Norwich High School. The initiative is a collaboration between the Chenango County Department of Planning and multiple nonprofits, and the United States Department of Defense that has brought dozens of service men and women to the area to provide health care, dental, vision and veterinary services to community members at no cost to them. Referrals will also be given to patients in need of further care.
The purpose of an IRT event is to provide real world training opportunities for service members while also supporting the needs of America’s underserved communities.
