Smyrna Citizens Band continues summertime concert tradition on Monday

SMYRNA – The stage is set for the Smyrna Citizens Band to perform their third concert of the summer season on Monday, July 20 from the s.
Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m.
This marks the 97th year the Smyrna Citizens Band has performed for village residents. Musical selections for Monday’s performance include “Majesty Overture,” “Vignette for Band,” “Cripple Creek,” “Wabash Moon,” “Burnished Brass,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Songs of Faith,” “Josephine,” “Salute to Ol’ Blue Eyes,” “A Fifth of Beethoven,” and “Nobles of the Mystic Shrine,” along with a few favorite marches.
Performances by the Smyrna Citizens Band are made possibly by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Chenango County Council of the Arts. The Village and Town of Smyrna also contribute.
