Authorities: Men had heroin, pills, needles and spoons

NORTH NORWICH – Two men were arrested Wednesday and now face drug charges, as authorities allege the two were in possession of heroin, pills and paraphernalia.

The Narcotics Division of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an investigation that led to the arrest of 44-year-old Shannon Hunter and 45-year-old William Miller at approximately 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

With the assistance of CCSO road patrol deputies and CCSO K9 Jeroen, detectives stopped a 2012 Hyundai Elantra just off of State Highway 12 in North Norwich.

Authorities said Hunter, of Oxford, was the passenger of the vehicle and was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, Miller, from Gilbertsville, was said to be in possession of Hydrocodone pills and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said, “The vehicle was stopped in conjunction with the active investigation taking place.” No further details with regard to the stop were released.
