Colorscape poetry slam once again a big success
NORWICH – Colorscape's 21st annual poetry slam has come and gone. This year, Colorscape once again featured a poetry slam, which took place on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 2-5 p.m.
“The 14th annual Colorscape Chenango Poetry Slam held on Saturday, September 12, at Park Place Restaurant in Norwich was a tremendous success,” said Richard Bernstein, founder of Colorscape’s Poetry Slam and Norwich High School English teacher.
This year’s annual Colorscape Poetry Slam was held at Park Place Restaurant in downtown Norwich and featured three poets, along with many other participants. The three poets featured were William Stratton, Kristen Tomanocy, and Richard Bernstein, each of which read a 30-minute set of original poetry.
The three featured poets:
Richard Bernstein: Founder of Colorscape’s Poetry Slam, Norwich High School English teacher for 30 plus years, and 11-time recipient of Bright Hill Press NY High School Teacher of the Year Award. Bernstein’s poems have appeared in many journals, and his book of poetry was published by Finishing Line Press, “To the Occupant of Apartment 6X.”
