Marauder football takes down Phoenix

SHERBURNE - In their game Friday, September, 18, Sherburne-Earlville hosted Phoenix in a Section three match-up that they would win 20-12.

To start off the game Phoenix would strike first on a 32 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nicolas Bernard to Alan Ashby. The ensuing extra point attempt would fail and Phoenix would be up 6-0 early. Not much later S-E would strike with a Brodie Roebuck run from eight yards out. The two point conversion was good and now the Marauders were up 8-6 and would stay up the rest of the game.

Neither team would score until the third quarter when Roebuck would strike again on a three ard run, putting S-E up 14-6. Phoenix would earn their last touchdown of the game a few minutes later on a 48 yard touchdown run from Tim Gandino. The score was now 14-12 going into the fourth quarter.

S-E successfully put the game away in the fourth after Matt Hull recovered a fumble and ran it 56 yards in for the score, giving the game its final score of 20-12 Marauders.
