Norwich golf wins, local soccer stopped

NORWICH - Last night the Norwich golf team hosted Johnson City in a match that the Purple Tornado would win 204 to 223.
Shooting the low score of the match was Norwich's Ryan Johnson with a 38 on the day. Following close behind Johnson were Brennan Maynard and Nate Scheer who both shot a 40.
For Johnson City the low round went to Tyler Schuba who shot a 42, one ahead of his teammate Dylan Litchers who shot a 43.
Norwich improves to 5-4 on the season and will play again when they travel to Windsor today.

ONEONTA - On Tuesday, September, 22, the Norwich boys’ cross country team traveled to Oneonta to compete in a meet against three other schools. Norwich would place second overall but would take the top individual spot.
Norwich’s Ben Ericksen would finish first out of racers from four different schools, including Ericksen’s own team. Ericksen wold run a 15:58 over the 4500 meter course. His time would be nine seconds ahead of the next best runner, Johnson City’s Sam Carter. Marcus Cashman of Norwich would finish in the top ten as well as Noah Buffalini. Cashman would finish sixth overall with a time of 16:50, while Buffalini would finish ninth with a time of 17:50.
