Family Planning Celebrates 75th Anniversary
NORWICH – Family Planning of South Central New York celebrated 75 years of providing reproductive health care and education to tens of thousands of women and men in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties at an anniversary dinner at Terra Cotta banquet hall in Binghamton, New York.
“For 75 years we have provided professional, affordable, and nonjudgmental health care and education to tens of thousands of women and men,” said Family Planning CEO Debra Marcus. “We’re proud of our 75 year history of serving the community. We focus on prevention, on wellness, on empowerment, and we give people the tools they need to stay healthy and make wise decisions.”
Several women were honored at the event for their many contributions to Family Planning. Anne Taft was the recipient of Family Planning’s “Courage Award” for her long and generous support of Family Planning. Norma Lee Havens and Virginia Marr were honored as “Founding Mothers” whose championing of reproductive health care and justice were instrumental in the growth and success of Family Planning.
