Heroin, cocaine, and marijuana found after traffic stop
ONEONTA – Two women are in custody following a routine vehicle and traffic stop.
The New York State Police at Oneonta on Oct. 13, 2015, at approximately 12:32 a.m., arrested Britney L. Fraser, 25, of Oneonta along with Ashley A. Harty, 21, of Sherburne.
Fraser was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor; aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor; and possessing a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation.
Harty was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
These arrests occurred after a vehicle and traffic law stop when Fraser was observed failing to stop for approaching traffic as she drove onto State Route 7, from the Dunkin Donut’s parking lot, in the Town of Oneonta.
Once stopped an odor of marijuana was allegedly smelled by the NYS Troopers, which initiated a search of the vehicle and occupants. The investigation determined that Fraser allegedly unlawfully possessed half of a narcotic pill and was driving with a suspended license.
During the investigation, Harty was found to unlawfully possess over four grams of marijuana and small amounts of heroin and cocaine.
Fraser and Harty were both arraigned at the Town of Oneonta court and both were remanded to the Otsego County jail in lieu of $400 cash bail or $800 property bond each.
Both are set to re-appear in the Town of Oneonta Court on November 12, 2015.
