B-G soccer faces Delhi in the sectional tournament

DELHI - In a sectional game yesterday, Wednesday, October 21, the Bainbridge-Guilford boys varsity soccer team traveled to Delhi and ultimately fell 3-1.
In the first half of the game Delhi shot out to a 1-0 lead and end the game on a 3-1 lead. In the second half, both Delhi’s Kyle Brown and Nate Moon scored goals to give their team three goals. B-G’s lone goal came from an unassisted goal from Anthony Davis.
It was Delhi’s offense that won them the game, registering 21 shots over the course of the game. The Delhi attack couldn’t be matched by B-G as Delhi advances in the sectional tournament to face Greene on Saturday, October 24.

HANNIBAL, NY. - The Sherburne-Earlville girls varsity soccer team traveled to Hannibal last night to play in the first round of the Section Three tournament. S-E would win the match 1-0.
The lone goal of the game was scored by Lexi Elderkin. Elderkin was forwarded a pass by Savannah Irwin and redirected the ball into the goal for a score.
S-E travels to Westhill today to play in the second round of the tournament.

Cross Country
Norwich
WHITNEY POINT - On Tuesday, October 20, the Norwich boys cross country team competed in the Whitney Point invitational. The Purple Tornado placed second out of 15 teams at the meet.
The Norwich cross country team competed in one of their best meets yet, placing second overall with two runners placing in the top ten. Ben Ericksen and Marcus Cashman were in the top ten of the meet. Ericksen placed third, running a 17:48.9 and Cashman placed eighth and ran a 19:01.2.
Also competing for Norwich were Noah Bufalini, who placed 20, Connor Nichols, placing 25, Stanton Baker, placing 35, Zayn Harper, placing 36, and Jacob Russell who placed 43.
The JV boys also competed and did well with all four boys placing in the top thirty. John Matlack-Grey, a freshman, placed the highest for Norwich, finishing 12 overall.
