Police recover heroin, cocaine and prescription drugs; two arrested

NORWICH – Following a tip from a concerned citizen, two individuals have been arrested and linked to the sale of narcotics within the City of Norwich.

According to the Norwich Police Department, investigation revealed that prescription pills and narcotic street drugs were recovered from a Park Street residence.

The NPD recovered cocaine, heroin and various prescription medications from the home. Drug paraphernalia was also found.

Thendara L. Haratwell, 41, Sherburne, was arrested for criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

The charges allege that Hartwell possessed and sold controlled substances. She was held in NPD lockup pending her arraignment.

Michael J. Lella, 72, of Park Street in Norwich was charged with criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; and loitering in the first degree, a class B misdemeanor.
