Norwich girls varsity swimming competes at Section meet

OWEGO - Competing in the Section Four finals at Owego on Saturday, November 7, the Norwich girls varsity swim team would place eighth overall.
Norwich would send six swimmers who, as a team, would finish in the top ten of the meet. Placing fourth in the 200 medley relay was the team of Lauren Llewellyn, Maya Blaisure, Margie Winter, and Melissa Stroh. The Norwich girls placed fourth in class B and finished with a time of 2:01.25.
Individually Blaisure would finish fourth overall in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:22.52. Blaisure would also place third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.56. Blaisure’s time was good enough to beat Norwich record set by Kelly Wilson in 1994.
Stroh would also compete in the 50 free and 100 free, finishing ninth in both events. In the 100 fly and 50 free Winter would finish 12 and 10, respectfully.
Norwich’s 200 freestyle relay team also competed. The team of Ashton wenzel, Margie Winter, Melissa Stroh, and Ally Porack finished seventh with a time of 1:55.56.
