DA’s Office welcomes county’s first female Assistant District Attorney

NORWICH – Following another successful run and re-election of District Attorney Joseph A. McBride, the Chenango County District Attorney's Office welcomes its first female Assistant District Attorney.

“I always wanted to do law, I just wanted to help people and I thought that was the best way I could,” said Laura R. Parker newly appointed Assistant District Attorney.

An Assistant District Attorney position became available recently when Thomas L. Bowen Jr., the previous assistant left the office seeking employment elsewhere.

Parker was immediately targeted as a prime individual for the position, and subsequently began her first official day in the District Attorney's Office this past Wednesday, Nov. 4th.
