BINGHAMTON – The New York State Police Troop C recently received several reports of telephone callers claiming to be from the IRS.

These reports have indicated that the callers aggressively demand the resident pay money to clear up an outstanding tax debt, or face criminal charges.

It is feared that this scam may continue to increase as the holidays and the end of the tax year draw near.
