Kaitlyn Jackson seeks community’s help in worldwide competition

NORWICH – Kaitlyn Jackson, currently a senior at Norwich High School, is well known for her previous involvement in American Idol; however, with sights set on a new goal, she is seeking the community’s help again.
“This is the first time I've been in this competition. I'm really excited about this opportunity and I greatly appreciate all of the support I received from the community members throughout the first round,” said Jackson.
Recently, Jackson had her original music video and song titled “All The Little Things” receive some success in two separate competitions. The YouTube link to the video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L54X-ZQxUk
She was notified that her song was a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition in the Gospel/Inspirational category, and would go on to win Honorable Mention overall.
The USA Songwriting Competition chose to highlight Jackson over all the rest of her competition, as an American Idol contestant, in their updates on accomplishments by "Alumni Winners and Finalists," which included Megan Trainor.
However, the other competition is still ongoing, and Jackson is looking to her community that she has grown up in for some support. "All The Little Things" has won the weekly worldwide music video competition for SuperXtar.com, a website that holds weekly worldwide competitions for rising artists.
Due to her success in the weekly competition for all the weekly winners from November, Jackson will enter as a finalist in the next round of the competition which starts tomorrow. Voting will be open for one week, until Dec. 16.
“It’s a popular vote competition, so her continuation in the competition is based on getting as many votes as possible from people all around. She beat out a signed artist from Albania for her weekly event, but is against artists with over 120,000 fans on their Facebook pages now, so we need the community’s help,” said Terri Jackson, Kaitlyn Jackson’s mother.
Voting for Jackson can be done online at www.superxtar.com by clicking the monthly tab at the top of the page.
Anyone who votes online for Kaitlyn will be automatically entered into a free drawing for bitcoins (digital currency). It should be noted that people who voted for Jackson in the weekly competition earned over a $1,000 combined from the drawings. Voting can be done every 12 hours. Each time you vote, you will be re-entered to win bitcoins.
It should also be noted that in an effort to maintain a fair voting system, only three votes will be accepted per IP address. Therefore, if there is "crowd voting" at an event (such as a school or stadium), in order for people's votes to register, they must turn off their phone’s wifi so votes can register under their phone’s IP address. Or simply vote from home.
Kaitlyn will be competing against two contestants, one from Russia and the other from Oklahoma. This action was taken after one of the contestants claimed that her participation in the competition will be announced at a stadium.
“She has a hard road ahead of her to beat out the other accomplished artists; but the community was so supportive during her time on American Idol, and we hope we can gather enough support once again,” said Terri Jackson. “Even with the many accomplishments and recognition she has received, she remains extremely grateful for the support and opportunities her hometown has given her.”
Besides the upcoming voting, Jackson will additionally be performing with the MidYork Band at their Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Norwich High School Auditorium.
“Out of all Kaitlyn's accomplishments, I am most proud of the fact that she works so hard at everything she does. Whether it be singing, acting, dancing, academics; it amazes me how much she is able to juggle at once. She always has something going on or a performance to prepare for, and through it all carries a perfect GPA in school,” said Terri Jackson.
