Early Monday fire destroys Plymouth trailer, investigation continues

PLYMOUTH – Emergency personnel and firefighters including the Chenango County Bureau of Fire responded to the scene of a reported structure fire at 3195 State Highway 23 Monday morning shortly before 7 a.m.

At least five area fire companies were on scene including Plymouth, North Norwich, City of Norwich, Pharsalia, and Smyrna departments.

The morning commute was slowed for tractor trailers long the stretch of State Highway 23 approximately six miles east of the City of Norwich as the roadway was closed for approximately two hours while investigators and firemen worked to knock down and determine cause of the fire that destroyed a mobile home structure.
