SYRACUSE - Bishop Ludden got the best of the Sherburne-Earlville girls basketball team on Wednesday night, ending the Marauders season after a 74-52 win.

The Marauder ladies were within five at the half but fell apart in the third quarter where they would allow the Gaelic Knights to score 28 points.

“Lilly [Berg] picked up her fourth foul two minutes into the third quarter. That’s when the game started to change,” said Sherburne-Earlville Head Coach Karen Mulligan. “We had to focus on Rauch so much but [Patulski] couldn’t miss from anywhere.”

Laura Patulski put up 36 points for the Gaelic Knights and Danielle Rauch added on another 17.

“They were really good and very quick,” Coach Mulligan said, “With Lilly out, it was easier for them to score inside off of penetration. And a lot of our offense runs through Lil, so that was a struggle as well.”

Despite the limited playing time because of foul trouble, Lilly Berg scored 14 points for the Marauders. Savannah Irwin played her part per usual, with 23 points and five three-pointers.
