Two remanded to the CCCF in connection to Otselic meth bust

OTSELIC – Last Thursday, Feb. 25 following a routine probation check performed by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police on the residence of 2019 County Road 16 in the Town of Otselic, two individuals were arrested for crimes related to the unlawful manufacture and possession of methamphetamine.

Calvin M. Parker, 56, a known to be convicted felon, was said to have been found to be in possession of a Remington 870 .20 gauge shotgun, approximately seven ounces of marijuana, and digital scales, at the time of the arrest.

"A strong chemical odor was discovered during the investigation which led to the discovery of a “one pot” methamphetamine cook," read a release from authorities with the Chenango County Correctional Office.

It is alleged that approximately 20 ounces of liquid methamphetamine was later recovered from the County Road 16 location.

Parker was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony; unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third degree; criminally possessing methamphetamine precursors; criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree; and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
