‘Zumbathon’ to benefit Norwich family
NORWICH – Plans are a go for a three-hour “Zumbathon” to benefit a local family in need.
The fundraising event will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at St. Bartholomew’s in Norwich. In addition to “night club style” Zumba, the event will feature a Chinese auction and a variety of other activities to support the Bloomingdale family of Norwich. The entry donation fee is $10 per adult.
Proceeds will be used to offset medical expenses incurred by Celeste Bloomingdale, an avid supporter of the community and longtime employee of Gus’ Steakhouse in Norwich. Bloomingdale is feared to suffer from permanent paralysis as a result of herniated discs pressing against nervous tissue in her spine.
