OXFORD – The Chenango County Farm Bureau will hold an informational seminar addressing the pros and cons of leasing land to solar power contractors.

The event will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Oxford High School. People who are interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling 334-6061.

The Chenango Farm Bureau notes that leasing of land for solar purposes has become a big issue across New York State. These lease agreements may affect property owners’ ag exemptions and taxes, and impose other concerns.
