Six recovered pit bulls transported to Rome on Saturday

Members of the group Lainey's Army and community members gathered at noon Saturday to visit with six of the dogs that were recovered by authorities from a Whaupaunaucau Road property. Anthony Thompson faces six misdemeanor charges of overdriving, torturing, or injuring an animal, as it is alleged that Thompson failed to provide adequate water, shelter or food for the dogs who were recovered in January. Six of the dogs were transported to Rome, NY. Despite objection from the District Attorney's Office, the seventh dog was returned to the defendant per the judge's order following a hearing in the Town of Norwich Court.
