Lady Blackhawks Softball looks for a hot start to a new season

OXFORD – Starting this Saturday, April 2, the Oxford Blackhawks Softball team will begin their quest to reach the Sectional Tournament. They begin their journey with a non-league game against Otselic Valley, which is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
The lady Blackhawks are coming off of just a one-win season in 2015, and hope that by winning their first game, garner momentum that will continue to propel them to further success throughout the remainder of the 2016 season.
Oxford will have two returning seniors; Rachel Seiler at first base and Emilee Eldred, who is utilized at multiple positions, pitcher, third base and in the outfield. Other notable additions for the Blackhawks are freshman Karly Marshman, who played on the varsity squad as an 8th grader last year, Allison Beckwith who joins the varsity team this year from the modified team, and Jessie Howe at catcher.
