Guzy found guilty
NORWICH – Chenango County Court Judge Frank B. Revoir found John M. Guzy guilty on 15 of 17 counts – including second degree murder – at the conclusion of his bench trial Wednesday.
Today marked the third day of the bench trial of the accused 'road rage' murderer of Bainbridge in 2014.
One witness was called Wednesday by the prosecution. The defense only called the defendant, Mr. Guzy, to the stand to testify on his own behalf.
During roughly the next hour the closing statements were heard in open court. Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. went into chambers at approximately 2:30 p.m. in hopes of reviewing the facts of the case that he had been presented, in hopes of returning a verdict before 4 p.m.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. Revoir did return to the courtroom to read the verdict that the court was imposing on the matter.
Guzy had previously been indicted on 17-crimes including murder in the second degree, a class A-1 felony.
The court found John M. Guzy guilty on 15 of the 17 charges against him.
Guzy was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility where he will await sentencing on the matter at a later date.
