County makes headway on comprehensive plan

NORWICH – The Chenango County Board of Supervisors is moving ahead with a years-long endeavor to organize an updated comprehensive plan for the county.

On Monday, Board members adopted a resolution making Chenango County the lead agency for the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) process. Under the SEQRA law, municipalities must review the environmental impacts of certain projects, including comprehensive plans.

The resolution permits the chairman of the Board, with the advice and assistance of other county officials, to undertake any additional procedures necessary to complete the SEQRA process.
