Oxford head coach stated, “Our pitcher went to the hospital, she put her hands up on a line drive back from the batter and had to get taken to the emergency room. It was quite scary. She made it back in time to tell us all she was fine,” said Pizza. “I had a flex in (due to other injuries) so I didn’t have a player or subs to put in, they (Afton) didn’t even care and just let it go. That is huge sportsmanship right there. They (Afton) were absolutely wonderful in terms on helping us get ice and with their sportsmanship. It just shows what a great team they are.”
Oxford's Allison Beckwith, Emilee Eldred, and Savannah Beech all secured a hit on the night, while Afton saw nearly their entire lineup gain a hit.
