BAINBRIDGE – After their terrific 12 hit performance against Hancock, the Bainbridge-Guilford varsity softball offense could only muster up three hits against dominant Afton pitcher A. Greenwood, suffering their third straight defeat, on a score line of 5-1.
This game was a pitchers duel from start to finish. B-G’s Kori Thornton pitched an entire game, yielding just six hits and four earned runs, while striking out an impressive 12 batters. On the other side, Afton’s Greenwood was also masterful throughout her 6 and two thirds innings pitches, giving up just three hits, one earned run and striking out eight on her way to victory.
