Late score pushes Sidney past Lady Bobcats ending post-season bid

SIDNEY – The Bainbridge-Guilford varsity softball team took on the Sidney Warriors on May 19, in the first round of the Class C Section IV tournament, coming up short with a 3-2 loss.

All tied up at 2-2 heading into the seventh inning, BG could not not keep the Warriors off the bases to take the game to extra innings, ultimately surrendering a sacrifice RBI run to Sidney for the 3-2 victory.

Despite the ultimate loss, it was BG who found themselves on the board first, taking the 1-0 lead in the first inning when Megan Palmatier doubled to center field sending Alli Miller home.

Following the early lead, The Bobcats would exchange one run innings for a total of four different lead changes in the contest.

Ultimately, it was the two errors committed by BG that would help contribute to the close loss, as Sidney would only commit one in the contest.
