Oxford Farmers Market designs new signs

OXFORD – On the approach into the Village of Oxford on Route 12, travelers will not be able to miss the colorful, hand-painted signs reminding passersby to visit the Oxford Farmers' Market on Saturdays, 9 am to 12 noon. Market volunteers gathered in a barn last weekend to design and hand paint the lettering on the 6 x 8-foot wooden signs. "Then everyone just stepped back," recalled Trellan Smith, one of the volunteers, "and watched Lem bring that fresh bunch of carrots to life." Lem, or L.E. Mills, grew up in Oxford, and is an artist, homesteader, and vendor at the Oxford Farmers' Market.
