OTSELIC – The 2016 Otselic Valley CSD valedictorian is Grace Lowry. She is the daughter of James Lowry of Eaton, New York and Patricia Lowry of Cazenovia, New York.
Throughout her years in high school she has been an active member in her FFA chapter holding the offices of Executive Secretary and Student Advisor. She attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leader Seminar as an ambassador her sophomore year. Through that program and throughout her high school career she has completed over 120 hours of community service.
Lowry has participated in Envirothons throughout her high school career, being a member of the second place team in the county for two years in a row. She is very kind and generous person who goes above and beyond for everyone around, and you can always count on her to lend a helping hand. Her dedication and drive, has not only led her to success in and out of the class room, but it has also drove others to strive to be the best version of themselves and do their best in school.
Lowry’s loving and empathetic lifestyle will bring her far in life. She plans to attend LeMoyne College with a focus Creative Writing or Earth Sciences.
The 2016 Otselic Valley CSD Salutatorian is Marianne Jones. Marianne is 18 years old and lives in Beaver Meadow, NY. She is the daughter of Theresa Roosa of Earlville and Arthur Jones of Oxford.
Jones was highly involved at Otselic Valley participating in sports such as softball, member of the Otselic Valley HS band, and holding prestigious seats such as class of 2016 treasurer, and yearbook treasurer. She also went above and beyond the normal high scarchool demands earning over 30 college credits.
Jones is very hardworking and determined student. She will be attending SUNY Morrisville in the fall, where she was awarded the Local Campus Award. Marianne plans on obtaining dual degrees in Business Management and Accounting.
