NORWICH – This weekend’s annual recital for the Perkins School of the Arts celebrates the closing of yet another successful year of professional dance and choreography within one of the most recognized institutions in the country.

For its 19th season, the Perkins School's senior class is comprised of an electric group of female dancers who have spent years honing their craft and polishing every detail of their “Rule the World” routine, to be unveiled to the general public for the first time this weekend.

Rule the world embraces the fleeting spirit of the group, with answers to the question: “What would you do if you ruled the world?” articulated in dance form.

“We have a very fun and extremely strong all-female lineup of dancers this year who have transformed this performance into a fun routine that primarily focuses on doing things their own way,” said Mikey Perkins, choreographer and instructor at the Perkins School of the Arts. “We've had a huge enrollment of part-time recreational dancers at the school this season, and the recital is their opportunity to showcase their individual personalities and incredible skill.”

Without giving away the whole performance, Perkins indicated that another piece billed “Line of Absurdity” juxtaposes the preposterous with the sensible.
