Sheriff’s Office makes quick work of Country Club burglary

PLYMOUTH – Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly closed a burglary investigation at a Town of Plymouth business this week that led investigators down a trail of clues that would result in the recovery of both stolen property and cash.

According to authorities, the Sheriff’s Office was alerted of the missing property and several hundred dollars in cash from the Canasawacta Country Club on County Road 44 in the Town of Plymouth shortly after it opened for business on Tuesday morning.

Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives arrived at the scene and discovered stolen cash and a golf cart sometime during the overnight hours. During its investigation, deputies also discovered that a second golf cart had been stolen last week.

It was while interviewing residents in the area that authorities discovered the second golf cart in a ditch in the area of Owens Road, just off County Road in Plymouth.
