GREENE – Chris Lord and JoAnne Barello started Chenango County Coach about four years ago, and after overcoming trial and error, thier business has been booming in the Greene community.
Their one-of-a-kind 1937 Studebaker Dictator limousine stands out in every special occasion, event, party... you name it.
If you’re looking for a taste of old Hollywood glamour for your next event, this unique limousine will surely catch your eye. The limousine is only available during the months of May to October; however, prices are affordable, and they have also expanded outside of Chenango County, and even out of state.
“It took me 20 years to finally finish. It was 2012 when I first drove it,” said Lord.
Lord remodeled the once run-down limousine from top to bottom, including the handmade interior, and added each and every detail himself. This body of work is more than just a business. It exemplifies the hard work and dedication of Lord.
“I was a stock car instructor at Pocono Raceway [10 or so years ago], and in my second year working there, I met JoAnne,” said Lord.
“I suited up the clientele that he would take around the track,” said Barello, “but prior to that, I worked at Pocono Raceway with the security for NASCAR.”
The two first shared their love for the limousine with just family and friends, until one day Lord decided that he wanted to make a business out of the limousine. With JoAnne by his side, the two are dedicated to making the business flourish.
“Business just keeps on growing, and we have some really big events coming up,” said Barello. “All we want is for people to feel comfortable in it, and feel like a movie star.”
The Chenango County Coach is a part of Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce and Commerce Chenango. You can also catch Chris and JoAnne on some nights at the Rotary Rod and Bike Night in Greene.
