NORWICH – Five-year-old Jacob Aikins stopped by the Norwich Police Department Monday night to deliver a handful of bags to the officers to show his appreciation.

“I wanted to tell them all thank you for their good job so I wanted to give them candy,” Aikins said. “I like candy, and they do too.”

His mother said it was her son’s idea to bring bags to the department, and after leaving the Norwich station, the two were heading to Sherburne to deliver bags to the officers in the Sherburne Police Department.

“They keep us safe and I wanted them to know that,” said Aikins. “Ryan (Police Officer Ryan Legacy) gave me a Junior Police Officer sticker once, and that was really nice.”
