Chenango County athletes named to All-State softball teams

NORWICH - The New York State Sportswriters Association has named three Chenango County athletes as members of the NYSSCOGS All-State softball teams in recognition of their high-levels of play throughout the 2016 season.
Bainbridge-Guilford junior Megan Palmatier as well as Norwich seniors Kassidy Seary and Hannah Eddy were each esteemed members of the All-State teams in their respective classes.
Megan Palmatier was dubbed Class C third-team All-State for her exceptional ability at the catcher’s position. Palmatier returns next season for Bainbridge-Guilford as a senior.
Kassidy Seary was named to the Class B second-team All-State for her outstanding play at the first base position. “I've spent a lot of time in the off season working on my skills and improving as much as I can in every aspect of the game,” said Seary. “Being acknowledged for awards such as All-State reminds me that all the time I have put in on and off the softball field has been worth it.” Seary was named to the Class B fourth-team All-State last year. She will be attending Binghamton University this fall.
Hannah Eddy was named to the Class B third-team All-State for her dominance as a pitcher.
“This is my first time being awarded to an All-State team and I have worked harder and harder every year to try to achieve this,” Eddy said. “I know as I head to the next level I'm going to have to work even harder, but receiving this award has made me realize I can do just that.” Eddy will be attending Herkimer College this fall.
Kassidy Seary and Hannah Eddy will each go on to play softball at the collegiate level.
