The Place students particpate in dragon building workshop with artist Bonnie Gale

NORWICH — The Place invites community members to join them on August 12 in the artistic creation of a six-foot dragon that will be displayed at Colorscape in September. Community members will have the opportunity to work alongside local artist Bonnie Gale who has been featured on the Martha Stewart show for the artwork she creates with willow. During the workshop community members will be creating the structure of the dragon using willow. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m.-1p.m. in The Place’s activity room.
In future workshops, the dragon will come to life through the creation of scales and colorful paint. Workshops will be announced shortly.
Additionally, children and adults alike can read the story about the dragon in a short five-part series that will be published released on its website at www.theplacenorwich.com. At the beginning of each week, The Place will release new chapters of the story online. Part one is currently available.
