NORWICH – The Chenango County Court convened for a morning session on Friday, Aug. 5, where the cases of two individuals facing charges of grand larceny were heard.

Assistant District Attorney Laura Parker represented the people of Chenango County in both cases, while John Cameron was assigned to represent both defendants. The Honorable Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. presided over matters.

• Gregory R. Branning, 31, of Pennsylvania, appeared in court charged with one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; and one count of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

It was alleged that Branning did intentionally steal two Sidney Federal Credit Union debit cards from a victim on Feb. 9, 2016, in the Town of Greene.

Branning agreed to enter a plea of guilty to the top charge of grand larceny in the fourth degree in exchange for a sentence of six months incarceration at the Chenango County Correctional Facility, followed by five years of probation. Branning also agreed to execute a written waiver of appeal at the time of his sentencing.

Branning's sentencing was adjourned until August 19, at 9:30 a.m.
