Auditions for ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ taking place August 20, 21
NORWICH - Under the direction of Mark D. Sands, the Norwich Theater Company will be staging “It’s A Wonderful Life” on November 11-13 at the Chenango Arts Council's Martin W. Kappel Theater in Norwich.
The script is an adaptation of the 1946 movie by Frank Capra which starred Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.
The cast requires 12 men and 10 women of various ages, as well as two young boys age 10-12; and two young girls, ages 5-7 and 9-10. There is also a need for people who would rather work behind the scenes as stage crew, set builders, and painters.
Auditions will take place on August 20 and 21 from 2-4 p.m. in the conference room at the Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 W. Main St., Norwich.
For those in the area not familiar with Mr. Sands’ work, he was the director of the Norwich High School spring musicals for 22 years. His productions included “Mary Poppins” in 2015, “Phantom of the Opera” in 2011, and “Les Miserables” is 2010.
In recent years, Sands has also directed the Norwich Theater Company’s productions of “Godspell” and “A Christmas Carol.”
Audition information is available on the Norwich Theater Company’s website and at the Chenango Arts Council. For additional information, contact Sands at 334-4307 or by email at msands_ntc@yahoo.com.
