Unadilla Valley Golf suffers opening loss, despite showing promise

UNADILLA VALLEY – The Unadilla Valley varsity Golf squad squared off against Sidney at Red Pine Golf Course on August 23.
The Par 36, 9 hole course that was played, saw Sidney run away with the team win, when they dropped a low 202 points, beating the young UV team who could only secure a score of 312.
The Medalist for Sidney was Justin McMilan who shot a 38, followed by Trenton Stillman and Trevor Duton at 40, Kyle Smith and Steven Smith at 42, with the throwout score being Dominick Hartwell's.
The Medalist for UV was Brandon Kneel at 51, followed by Sam Loeffler at 56, Andrew Jackson at 56, Drew Emerich at 67, Shontel Loomis at 82, throwout score being 89 for Gavin Church.
“Theyre all good kids, we're going to improve, we just have to keep working on some things,” said UV head varsity coach Carl Convis.
UV (0-1) will play Hancock on Thursday, August 25.
