Free smoke alarm installations set to take place this weekend
NORWICH – The Norwich Fire Department will be facilitating free smoke alarm installations on Saturday, September 17, in an effort to help improve Norwich residents’ preparedness for home fires.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents on Conkey Avenue, Locust Street, Canasawacta Street, and Sheldon Street in Norwich will receive home visits where Red Cross trained individuals will provide guidance in the development of a family disaster plan, as well as valuable emergency preparedness tips and information. They will also offer to install smoke alarms if needed.
Visits will last approximately 20 minutes and can be scheduled at the resident’s convenience.
