Unadilla Valley volleyball: a force to be reckoned with

NEW BERLIN – The ladies of the Unadilla Valley varsity volleyball team now enjoy a still unblemished record of 6-0. Their latest win in the 2016 season came on their home court this past Friday, Sept. 23, when they handily defeated Deposit in three sets at 3-0.
Despite some feisty play from Deposit in each of the sets, UV would never waiver in the match winning each set at 25-21, 25-17, before finishing off the Lumberjacks in the final set of 25-18.
In the win for the lady Storm, Keana Schrag would rack up an impressive day on the defensive side, recording 16 digs for her team. While Megan Carpenter would once again look for the offensive point, as she tallied eight assists. Bailey Miller would record four aces and three kills in the contest, while Sara Nogaret would see eight aces and six digs, and Erin Kelly would step up in the game to produce six aces and five assists.
In the loss for Deposit, Marissa Lengel would have three kills, Abby Chase and Klara Mednansky would each have two assists, while Kylee Wignall would have five digs.
Unadilla Valley (6-0) will be on the road on Monday, Sept. 26, as they take on the ladies of Greene at 6:30 p.m. While Deposit (3-5) will also be on the road next as they travel to Walton on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
