SIDNEY – This past weekend on Friday Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24, the lady Marauders varsity field hockey team was busy in Sidney as they played two games over the weekend in Sidney's tournament, unfortunately losing both.

First round of the tournament matched up S-E against New York Mills – a tournament and league game – S-E would fall to NY Mills 5-0.

With a halftime score of 3-0, S-E failed to muster any answer for the NY Mills offense in the second half.

S-E would suffer this first round loss, getting outshot 14-6, while having eight corners to NY Mills 14.

The Marauder defense was lead by Lexie Jordan in the goal with eight saves, while Jade Diamond added two saves for S-E.

Scoring for NY Mills: Alyssa Fuccillo (two goals, one assist), Kiley Lyons (one goal), McKenzie Keator (one goal), Kaitlyn Carman (one goal), Michaela Marrero (two assists), Chloe Cattadon (one assist), Angela Chen (one assist).

Following the loss to NY Mills, S-E fell to play in consolation game the following day against host Sidney. NY Mills advanced to the championship. No statistics or results have been reported on the outcome of the championship game.
