Senator Fred Akshar (R) stopped in to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital yesterday, September 28, for an hour long tour of the many departments and newly renovated areas of the hospital.

Many of the hospital’s staff and volunteers greeted the Senator and shared stories of success as well as plans for the local hospital’s future.

Sen. Akshar expressed appreciation for the hospital’s continued efforts to maintain emergency and primary care in Chenango County. Stating his awareness of the difficulties that hospitals face in all aspects of the healthcare environment, Sen. Akshar offered his continued support to UHS Chenango Memorial and reiterated the important role it holds in the local area, both as a medical provider and as an important part of the area's financial stability.
