Monday Evening Music Club to showcase Red Raville’s Big Band Sounds

NORWICH – The Monday Evening Music Club, now in their 107th year, will be proudly presenting Red Raville's Big Band Sounds in a free concert on Monday, October 3, at the United Church of Christ in Norwich. The show is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
With the support of a Decentralization Grant from the Chenango Arts Council, the Monday Evening Music Club is able to host Big Band Sounds for a second successive season.
Red Raville started the Big Band after retiring from a distinguished teaching career at Sherburne-Earlville. At last year's concert, Big Band Sounds performed for a large audience playing hits ranging from Chicago's '25 or 6 to 4' to Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York,' as well as many, many more in between.
While the event is free and open to the public, the Music Club is always accepting donations to further their scholarship program which is awarded yearly to students who are attending college with a major related to music. Since 1954, the Music Club has awarded these scholarships to Chenango County high school seniors and the winner is asked to perform at a recital at the end of the year.
The UCC Church is located at 11 West Main Street in Norwich. More information on the Monday Evening Music Club is available on their Facebook page.
